The Hardy Lighting Internally Lighted Windsock is a fully integrated, LED-illuminated wind direction indicator built entirely from high-grade SS316 stainless steel for exceptional resistance to corrosion, salt spray and harsh marine conditions. It combines a 360-degree freely rotating windsock assembly with an internal white LED illumination system and an integrated red obstruction light, giving continuous, accurate wind direction visibility day and night, including in low-light and offshore night-time operations.

Internally lighted windsock: Offshore explosion proof (Zone 1)

The Offshore version is an explosion proof windsock rated for Zone 1 explosive areas on helidecks, with an explosion-proof internal LED source and a 32cd explosion-proof red obstruction light. It is the correct specification wherever a hazardous-area classification applies.

Internally lighted windsock: Onshore (Safe Area)

The Onshore internally lighted windsock is a Safe Area rated unit for helipads and non-explosive environments. Both versions share the same rugged SS316 construction, 360-degree rotating top assembly, IP66 rating and 100,000+ hour life expectancy, and are compliant with ICAO Annex 14 Vol. II and UK CAA CAP 437. Engineered in Europe, assembled in the UAE, this LED illuminated windsock is available with 100–240 Vac or 24 Vdc input and mast lengths from 300mm standard up to 6000mm. An internally illuminated LED windsock with a 32cd red obstruction light on top, so one assembly delivers both wind direction indication and obstruction warning. Internal source is LED, steady burning, white, 5700K.

Full SS316 Construction, 360° Rotating

Lighting unit, mast, rotating frame and hoop are all SS316 stainless steel, resistant to corrosion and salt spray. The top assembly rotates freely through 360 degrees and is non-tiltable for accurate wind indication.

Dual Voltage Input, IP66 Rated

Accepts 100–240 Vac (50–60Hz) or 24 Vdc and draws 26W, compatible with most helideck and helipad electrical systems. IP66 rated with a -25°C to +65°C ambient operating range.

Mast starts at a 300mm standard base section and extends up to 6000mm, mounted on an SS316 DN65 flange. Compliant with CAP 437 / ICAO Annex 14 Vol. II, engineered in Europe, assembled in the UAE, with a 2-year warranty.
