The Hardy Lighting Red LED Obstruction Light is a low-intensity aviation obstruction light designed to make tall structures — towers, cranes, chimneys, masts, high-rise buildings and bridges — clearly visible to passing aircraft, day and night. Engineered in Europe, assembled in the UAE, it is built to ICAO Annex 14 and CAP 437 standards and is available in three light intensities (10cd, 32cd and 200cd) so you can specify the correct output for your structure’s height and classification.

Each unit uses a microprocessor-controlled LED engine with onboard temperature and voltage sensors, giving consistent red obstruction lighting performance across a wide input voltage range (AC 85–264V or DC 10–26V). A marine-grade, powder-coated aluminium enclosure and a breather valve to prevent internal condensation make the light suitable for coastal, offshore-adjacent and harsh outdoor environments across the GCC. Every Red LED Obstruction Light is independently photometric-tested, rated IP66, salt-spray tested for 240 hours and backed by a 2-year warranty.

Specifying the right red LED obstruction light

The intensity you specify depends on the height and classification of the structure being marked. This red LED obstruction light range is a low intensity obstruction light certified against ICAO Annex 14 and UK CAA CAP 437, and complies with FAA L-810 Type B. As a red aircraft warning light it is commonly specified alongside the White Obstruction Light and the Green Perimeter Light on helideck and rooftop projects.

Three Intensities: 10cd, 32cd & 200cd

One red LED obstruction light platform in three certified outputs, so you can match the intensity to your structure's height and classification. All three share the same body, mounting, IP66 rating and certifications — only intensity and consumption differ.

ICAO, CAP 437 & FAA L-810 Type B Compliant

Every red LED obstruction light is built to ICAO Annex 14 and CAP 437, and complies with FAA L-810 Type B. Vertical beam profile and colour chromaticity are as per CAP437/ICAO, with independent photometric testing on every unit before dispatch.

Microprocessor-Controlled LED Engine

Software-controlled LED driver with onboard temperature and voltage monitoring sensors delivers stable output across a wide AC 85–264V or DC 10–26V input range, suiting grid, solar and battery-powered installations.

Marine-Grade Aluminium, IP66 & Salt-Spray Tested

Weatherproof powder-coated marine-grade aluminium enclosure with a breather valve that prevents internal condensation. Rated IP66 and salt-spray tested for 240 hours for coastal, offshore-adjacent and desert conditions.

Optional Infrared (IR) Channel for NVG Operations

An infrared channel is available for sites flying under night-vision goggles, used widely on defence, SAR and offshore structures. IR raises consumption to 9W (10cd), 12W (32cd) and 17W (200cd); all other specifications are unchanged.

100,000+ Hour Life & 2-Year Warranty

An aerodynamic, compact and lightweight body speeds up installation, while a maintenance-free LED design rated beyond 100,000 hours keeps whole-life cost low. Engineered in Europe, assembled in the UAE and backed by a 2-year manufacturer warranty.

What is the difference between the 10cd, 32cd and 200cd Red Obstruction Light?

The intensity you need depends on the structure's height and applicable aviation authority requirements. 10cd and 32cd units are typically used on lower and medium-height structures, while the 200cd version is used where a higher-intensity red obstruction light is specified, for example on taller towers or masts. All three share the same body, mounting, IP66 rating and compliance standards — only the light intensity and power consumption differ.

Is the Red LED Obstruction Light suitable for coastal and offshore-adjacent sites?

Yes. The marine-grade aluminium enclosure is powder-coated and independently salt-spray tested for 240 hours, making it well suited to the coastal and humid conditions common across the UAE and wider GCC.

Does the light work on both AC and DC power?

Yes. It accepts AC 85–264V or DC 10–26V input, so it can be specified for grid-powered or solar/battery-powered installations.

Is an infrared (IR) version available?

Yes, an infrared-enabled version is available for sites that require night-vision goggle (NVG) compatible obstruction lighting, at a slightly higher power consumption than the standard version.

What certifications does this obstruction light carry?

The Red LED Obstruction Light is ICAO Annex 14 and CAP 437 compliant, meets FAA L-810 Type B requirements, and is IP66 rated with independent photometric and 240-hour salt spray test certification.
